Swara Bhaskar was born on April 9, 1988, in Delhi to Chitrapu Uday Bhaskar and his wife Ira Bhaskar. Her father was an Indian Navy Officer and her mother is a professor of cinema studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She was one elder brother's name, Ishan Bhaskar who got married recently. She was born and raised in Delhi, where she attended the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya School and then studied English Literature at the Miranda House at the University of Delhi, where she completed her bachelor's. After finishing her bachelor's in English literature, she wants to complete her master's in Sociology at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Swara Bhaskar is an Indian actress who primarily works in Bollywood films. She is known for her supporting roles with renowned productions and leading roles in independent films. Swara has also won two-screen awards and has been nominated Filmfare Award three times. Recently, she will be seen in the movie "Veere Di Wedding" along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, and Shika Talsania in lead roles under the banner of  Balaji Motion Pictures.

Her next release was the romantic drama Prem Ratan Dhan Payo directed by Sooraj Barjatya, in which she played the role of Rajkumari Chandrika along with Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor, both productions were among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2015.
